WIRED Magazine Brings Geek Chic Back To Soho

(PRWEB) November 15, 2007 -- The WIRED Store showcases today's latest and greatest products with the return of its annual pop-up retail store in a new location at 60 Greene Street in the SoHo neighborhood of New York City. With more than 100 products on display, visitors are invited to test products, attend events, and purchase featured products online at www.wired.com/wiredstore. The WIRED Store will be open for six weeks from November 16 through December 30, 2007 and will allow customers to experience products, from under $100 to the ultimate splurge, ranging from solar briefcases that charge your gadgets and customized strollers with climate control and multimedia entertainment systems, and a sustainable, hi-tech luxury pre-fab home.

"The WIRED Store puts today's hottest new products in the hands of the most 'wired' holiday shoppers," said Jay Lauf, Publisher of WIRED. "We're working with partners who represent the best in technology, gadgetry and entertainment in a cool, interactive retail environment."

Co-presenting sponsors of the third annual WIRED Store are Infiniti and Visa. The WIRED Store will be open Wednesday through Friday from 12pm to 8pm and Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 7pm and closed Monday and Tuesday. The WIRED Store will host a range of events including WIRED Music Spotlights by Beck's, BUD Select, Intel, Olympus, and Patrón with DJs and live performances (Wednesday nights from 6pm to 9 pm); Afternoon tea and scones with British Airways (Fridays 11/30, 12/7, and 12/14 from 5pm to 7pm); "Intel® Centrino® Duo and Go" continental breakfast (Saturday's and Sunday's from 11am to 12:30pm); WIRED Wheels door-to-door Infiniti shuttle service in Manhattan below 34th Street (Saturdays and Sundays); WIRED Wins It special in-store giveaways from Visa (Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays); Holiday scavenger hunts through the streets of SoHo guided by Palm Centro smartphones (Sundays from 1pm to 5pm); and XM "On" Radio Sundays (Sundays from 12pm to 4pm).

This year, for the first time, the WIRED Store will expand to other markets. Through a partnership with W Hotels, the WIRED Store will have pop-up kiosks in W Hotel's West Coast properties beginning with W San Francisco (November 27 through December 6), W San Diego (November 29 through December 9), W Silicon Valley (December 11 through December 21), and W Los Angeles (December 13 through December 21). The WIRED Store Annex will remain in each location for a limited time of ten days and will feature ten products for hotel visitors to experience.
